Last week, we had the pleasure of attending two conferences showcasing the ongoing work in our lab!
Our PhD student, Meike Bleeksma, went to the MicroTAS 2026 conference in Granada (Spain) and presented the work she achieved during her exchange at Prof. Shoji Takeuchi group at the University of Tokyo, titled ‘A vascularized skin equivalent with a 3D printed lattice for maintaining microvascular network architecture‘. Meike received a Travel Grant from the Chemical and Biological Microsystems Society (CBMS). Congratulations, Meike!

We also participated in CyBioEl 2026 conference in Paphos (Cyprus). Anna Herland was one of the invited speakers and had the honor of opening the conference. Jessika Jessika presented a part of her PhD work on how electrical field stimulation modulates calcium oscillations in pancreatic islets, and received the Best Oral Presentation Award!
See you in the next conferences!
